Digital Imaging Services and Gift IdeasWe provide a wide range of services for any digital photographic image. People have saved memories of their family and friends for generations. Whether it be old photographs, postcards, snapshots or even magazine and newspaper articles or clippings. These memories can be easily damaged through aging or by natural elements like fire, water, flood and fading by the sun. That's what we are here for! Once a photograph has been scanned or digitized, like that of a digital camera, the digital artists at Grace-Full Images can restore these memories to their original condition (see our restorations page for more information). Not only can we fix damaged images but sometimes improvements can be made to old or new photographs by altering their appearance. Perhaps an unwanted object or person could be taken "out of the picture" to salvage an otherwise nice photograph or maybe someone was absent from a group photo, now they can be added through digital editing. Replacing or cleaning up an undesirable background is also very common (see our alterations page for more information). |
| Images can be repaired for any reason but restoring or altering a photograph for a friend or family member could make an excellent gift. We could setup a montage of pictures and/or newspaper clippings for a student's confirmation, graduation or for a special birthday. You could have an old wedding photograph restored for the grandfolk's wedding anniversary. Maybe you need a personalized card, invitation or photo announcement for a holiday or special event. |
| Whether you choose to use our services or not, at Grace-Full Images, we would encourage you to digitize your cherished memories. When you've created digital copies, these archives stand a much better chance of surviving. Once these images have been scanned and digitized, they could be uploaded to an internet storage site or simply saved to a DVD, CD, USB drive, flash drive or another hard drive. Keep this backup at another location and then if natural disasters happen to destroy the physical photograph - another can be easily printed from the digital archive. |

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow do I prepare my images before uploading them to Grace-Full Images?Save a digital file to your computer by using a scanner or downloading them from a digital camera. If you do not have a scanner, perhaps a friend or family member has one and could help you. Some copy centers (like Kinkos or Office Depot) can help you scan the image to a disk or USB drive. Using a scanner will always yield the best results, but in some cases, you could use your phone or digital camera to take a picture of the photograph, etc. If you try using a digital camera - use a tripod (if possible), make sure you are centered on the image, have plenty of light and turn the flash off (it will make a reflection). Also, Please ensure that your images are in the proper format (see next question). |
| What specific format must the digital image be in when I upload it to your site? When scanning the image, scan it at 300dpi (dots per inch) at 24bit color (RGB). Then save the image as a JPG with at least a compression of "High" ("Maximum" would be best). If you want the final print larger than the original, please take this into account when you scan the image. For instance, if you have a 4x6 and want to enlarge it to a 5x7 - add 25% and scan it at 375dpi. If you want to double it (4x6 to 8x10) scan it at 600dpi. We can fix any image at any resolution but please make sure to plan this when scanning so that you are not disappointed when you take it to the photo lab. Also, please keep the file size to less than 20MB. |
How do I upload an image for a free quote and what happens next? You can navigate to our upload page, fill out the online form and "submit" it to us. The information will then be emailed to us. After receiving your image(s) we will take a look at them, correspond with you via email and will not start any work without your explicit approval. Once the work has been completed we will inform you by email and send you a link to view a low resolution proof. You will then have an opportunity to pay for that project and download the completed image (you are under no obligation to pay until you are 100% satisfied with the completed work. |
| How long will it take to get a quote and when can I expect the work to be completed? We will correspond with you as soon as possible, (usually within 24 hours or at least 1-2 business days. After confirming what needs to be done and receiving your approval, we should be able to complete the work in 3 to 5 days (complex projects may take a week or longer, depending on our workload). If this is for a gift that is coming up soon or you need it to be completed quickly, please let us know and we will do our best to complete it as soon as possible. |
| Will I get new prints when the work is completed, what will I receive? The quotes and prices will only cover the digital editing. Some other sites might mark up their services as much as $10 or more just to cover the "free" print that they give you or they charge heightened prices for sets of special picture cards (like graduation or holiday cards). To keep things simple and affordable we send you your digital copy and then you can take it to your local photo lab or simply upload it to your favorite digital photo printing center (Walmart, Walgreens, etc.). Even at the most expensive photo refinishing kiosks, 4x6 prints should not be more than 20-30 cents each, 5x7 prints are usually as little as 50-90 cents and 8x10 prints can be purchased for $1.50 to $2.50 per print. Large print centers or online photo printers are usually far less. We can edit your digital images for a one-time affordable price and you can get them printed at your convenience, as many times as you want at your favorite photo lab for the same low price as any other snapshot. |
What do I do to pickup my finished files? We have dedicated a specific site that you can use to view, purchase, download and manage the images that we have completed for you. After we have completed the work we agreed upon through our email correspondance, you will recieve a notification via email and a link to a separate site where you can view a low resolution proof of the completed image. At proofs.gfimages.biz, you will need to login using your email address (as the username) and the password that you included when you filled in the upload form and sent the original image(s). Once you have successfully logged in (and your new image/proof is available), you will have an opportunity to either describe the additional changes you expected us to do -or- view, purchase and download the high resolution image. After you have paid for our services, you can come back to this site and download the high resolution image any time or as many times as you want for the next 30 days. |
